Description
With this sketch, which I admit isn't the best (give me a bit of leeway, I haven't drawn a picture for nearly a month, so I'm a bit rusty), I decided to tweak Monsturra's design (again) to make him easier to draw, as the last sketch, which is in the right hand corner of this sketch, was needlessly complicated. While the changes are minor, I do feel the urge to discuss why I did them. So, let's begin:
-The mouth only has two exposed fang-like tusks at the front of the mouth (Monsturra has a slight overbite), with the rest of the teeth underneath his mammalian-like lips. I felt the exposed teeth added a bit too much detail, especially when I added the small details around the lips (like scales), so i decided to go back to the more Showa-style mouth with only two exposed tusks/fangs. Just makes sense, and gives Monsturra a friendlier look while keeping the fearsome side of his character.
-I reduced the number of cranial horns from a total of nine horns (in three rows) to simply three cranial horns. Again, this is to make a more cleaner design, as well as giving him a more friendlier appearance
-Like the cranial horns, I reduced the number of rows of dorsal plates Monsturra has from five to three. Again, this is mostly to clean up the design a bit, as well as being easier to draw.
-The tail has been shortened a bit, and appears more like a crocodilian tail. Felt the tail would look better shorter, especially when you want your kaiju to be as agile as possible.
-Shorten the fore-arms a bit (felt that they were a bit too long) and shrunk the hands a bit (same reason)
Those are the changes, minor as they might be. Overall, I'm happy with the design. It's a solid design, yet simple, and while I admit that it's a bit Godzilla-like (with hints of Anguirus and Gorgo), I do think it works as it's own kaiju and as a homage to the classic giant monster movies. Now, I still having some gripes with the story, but I will hope to solve them sooner or later. Other than that, I do enjoy this design.

Any specific reason Monsturra keeps slightly changing? Is it dissatisfaction with the design or trying to get everything just perfect? Not attacking, just curious. Aside from my main kaiju, Yirmatang (who has had five very different designs) generally I stick with the first or second sketch of my monsters, generally because those are the ones I poor everything into and match what I've had in my head for ages. Like I was stuck with two designs so I made a story ploy to incorporate both. Curious as to your reasoning of not settling with one final design
